Advice Following Insertion of an Intrauterine Device (IUD)

  •  You have persistent abdominal pain.
  •  You have a fever or unexplained chills.
  •  You have an unusual vaginal discharge.
  •  You experience pain or discomfort during sex.
  • You and your partner can feel the lower end of the IUD.
  • You can no longer feel the strings of your IUD, which you used to feel.
  •  You think you may be pregnant.
  • You have a copper IUD and your period has stopped.
  •  Your menstrual cycle changes.
  •  You have other concerns about your IUD.
